Our opinion on camping La Bastiane (Vacansoleil)
We stayed during our road trip along the Cรดte d’Azur at camping La Bastiane, located in Puget-sur-Argens. Ideally located if you would like to visit Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Nice and Monaco. We booked this campsite through Vacansoleil, which we are also very satisfied with. But this blog post goes on about our experiences of camping La Bastiane.
Location
The beautiful La Bastiane is located in the quiet Puget-Sur-Argens. Along the long narrow driveway you enter La Bastiane. There at the entrance, you immediately find the reception where you will check in. Just like in a hotel. It’s even smoother than in a hotel! The friendly staff of La Bastiane will drive you to your pitch. We even had a little choice regarding this pitch. We chose the place with the most shade. We were lucky we arrived around 4pm, at the hottest time of the day. This allowed us to see where the most shadow was and where the sun was shining very brightly. Facilities camping La Bastiane
Let’s start with the beginning. The beautiful weather in Puget-Sur-Argens, immediately puts you in good spirits. A mood that makes you muse to a fresh splash in the water. Fortunately, La Bastiane has a spacious swimming pool. Ideal! There is one pool for young children and one large pool for everyone. There are plenty of loungers with umbrellas. The pool is very clean, we didn’t expect it to be any better. Only the foot bath you have to go through before entering the pool area is a bit dirty. It is only cleaned once a day and when people walk off and on to the pool, it quickly gets a bit dirty anyway. But let that be the only small minus at the pool.
Rest
If you like peace, you can certainly ground here. However, we have to say that we stayed at La Bastiane in mid-September, which means that there are fewer children present than in the high season. An employee told us that in the summer months(June, July and August)it is a lot busier and therefore a little less quiet. For those who really go on holiday for the silence and tranquility,it is better to choose a period outside the summer holidays. Also, at night you can hear the A8 which is nearby. Even if you hear it very quietly in the background and you can’t say it’s really disturbing.
Food
La Bastiane also has its own restaurant. Actually, it’s more of a bar where you can eat at night. They have a fairly extensive menu and also different types of drink. Food and drink is a bit more expensivehere. We chose to buy food and drinks ourselves in nearby Carrefour (which is also huge!), which has saved a lot of money. There are also plenty of other shops a 5 minute drive from the campsite. Highly recommended here is definitely the Grand Frais, a real French supermarket with all fresh products. You will find fresh fish, meat, a wide range of fruit and vegetables and delicious bruchettas. La Bastiane also has a small shop where you can buy fresh baguettes and coffee cakes in the morning. So you don’t have to spend your holidays driving off and on to the store for, for example, a loaf of bread or some charcuterie.
Finally, we would like to say that we felt very much at home at camping La Bastiane and we got along well with the other camping residents and staff. We had a blissful time there!
