Germany 🇩🇪

We mainly associate Germany with beautiful nature such as the Black Forest and Saarland or the beautiful region and nature around and in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Of course, Germany is more than just nature. You also have some nice cities for a city trip. You can go to Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne or Essen. And the big advantage is that you don’t have to go far if you live in Belgium. A trip to Trier in the Moselle Valley, for example, is only 3 hours from Belgium. Ideal to spend a nice weekend nearby.

Although you can travel to Germany all year round, the best time to travel to this country is in the months of May, June and September. This is because you can experience pleasant temperatures and you will also have to pay less for a stay. Because you avoid the high season (German holidays) in July and August.

Although in our opinion Germany is best reached by car or train, you can of course also go by plane. For example, outside the high season you can already go to Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich and many other cities for 20 euros. In all school holidays you can count double or triple the price for a single ticket. However, this is not the most ecological option. A train is therefore a very good alternative. For example, the price for a train to Berlin starts at 40 per person from Belgium.

Germany has a wide range of accommodations. You can stay in a hotel, guest house, chalet, holiday home or on a campsite. The prices for accommodations vary from region to region and from time to time, but in general you can certainly find something decent for 40 euros per night. Do you still want to go under this budget? Then you should already look at an Airbnb or a hostel. These are good options in Germany.

The best way to transport yourself through Germany is of course with your own car. You have excellent roads where you can often go faster than 130 km/hour. Are you not traveling with your own car? Then you can also rent a car. This is possible from 30 euros per day for a decent car. Public transport is also a very good option in Germany. Because this country has an excellent train network. You can get everywhere in a carefree way. The only disadvantage is the expensive price for some routes. In the cities themselves you can use a cheap bus, tram or metro. These are also exceptionally well arranged and have a relatively low cost.
