The best travel time for Portugal is generally in the months of May, June and September. This is because you have good weather practically everywhere and you avoid the crowds of the summer holidays. If you are depending on school holidays, summer is of course also suitable! But you will pay a little more for your vacation. Portugal is also extremely suitable for people who want to overwinter in a warmer climate.
A flight ticket to Portugal doesn’t have to be that expensive. During high season you can fly directly to Porto from 80 euros and to Lisbon for 100 euros. These prices can increase in the weekends. In low season you only have to pay half of this. These cheap flights can of course be booked with the low cost airlines Ryanair and AirPortugal. The train network in Portugal is in good order, especially for long distances. You can book all tickets via the internet on the website of Comboios de Portugal. The prices of a decent Airbnb in Portugal start from 25 euros, with the exception of Lisbon. Because this is the cheapest city in this country in terms of accommodation.
