This year we drove our camper along the Moselle to continue to Austria. And this has become by far our favorite region from Germany. It’s beautiful! Camping in this region for a longer period of time should be great. Don’t forget to take a day trip to the various castles near this region. You will find real fairy-tale castles such as Burg Eltz. Besides visiting castles, it is up to nature, and of course the delicious wine, in the Moselle. A romantic weekend away? Check!
The Eifel is our second most favourite place in Rhineland-Palatinate. And this is because of the breathtaking nature and panoramas. Hikers are sure to get their money’s worth here. Just think of the beautiful Eifel National Park. But there are also several museums and picturesque villages to walk around quietly. So why not take a weekend off or spend a vacation? It is the ideal place for peace and quiet in nature.
Active adventurers must be back in Hunsrück. Here you can push boundaries by walking through deep valleys or staying overnight in the middle mountains. The hanging rope bridge is also the attraction of choice for daredevils without fear of heights. A place for the perfect photo, if you dare! Music lovers can also visit a giant electronic music festival called Nature One in Kastellaun in August. An adventurous weekend with friends assured!
Westerwald is the ideal hotspot for hikers who love organized walks. The views are well worth an effort. You can also camp here next to a lake where you can swim during the day. Or you can go to Freibad Schönbach where you can also go with small children for a day of water fun. Relaxing after an active day assured and sleeping like a rose guaranteed!
Ahrdal is the ideal place for bon vivants and family people in the Rhineland-Palatinate region. The inhabitants of Ahrdal are very welcoming so you feel right at home. Sports fans can certainly get their hearts out here. Culture lovers and foodies also have plenty to do here. And all this with a nice view of the green slopes and special rock formations. So you can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery but also all the delicacies that can be tasted.
Nahe is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. There are several nature parks and spas to enjoy. Here you escape from the hectic life of everyday life. If you still like to walk or cycle, you can do it here. In the evening you will sit down to the table with a delicious glass of wine from the region. The perfect combination of in-and-out relaxation can be found here!
Finally, in Rhineland-Palatinate you will also find a beautiful area called Palatinate. Here they are well equipped for the arrival of campers as half of the campsites run all year round.
